Frequently Asked Questions

1. How long does it take to build a retaining wall or paver patio?

Project timelines vary depending on size, design complexity, and site conditions. Most paver patios take 2–5 days, while retaining walls can take anywhere from a few days to a couple of weeks.

2. Do I need a permit for a retaining wall or patio?

In many areas, permits are required for retaining walls over a certain height (often 3–4 feet). We handle the permitting process and ensure everything meets local building codes.

3. What materials do you use for retaining walls and patios?

We work with a variety of high-quality materials, including:  concrete pavers, natural stone, brick, segmental retaining wall blocks, and Boulders.  We’ll help you choose the best option based on your style, budget, and durability needs.

4. How much does a retaining wall or patio cost?

Costs depend on size, materials, site preparation, and design features.  Small patios may start around a few thousand dollars.  Larger or more complex projects can be significantly higher.  We provide detailed, transparent estimates after a site consultation.

 5. How long will my patio or retaining wall last?

With proper installation and maintenance: paver patios can last 25+ years and retaining walls can last decades.  We use industry-best practices to ensure long-term durability.

6. Do paver patios require a lot of maintenance?

Not much. Basic maintenance includes: occasional cleaning, re-sanding joints every few years, sealing (optional, for enhanced color and protection).

7. Can you match my existing landscaping or home style?

Absolutely. We design every project to complement your home’s architecture and existing outdoor space, including color matching and layout design.

Yes—proper drainage is a critical part of our process. We install: base layers for stability, drainage systems behind retaining walls and proper grading to prevent water issues.

9. Can retaining walls help with yard drainage or erosion?

Yes! Retaining walls are often used to: prevent soil erosion, manage water runoff,  and to create level usable space on sloped properties.
